Volunteer Expectations

As an EMBRACE volunteer, first and foremost, it is our hope that you

strive to represent the love of Jesus to not only our participates, but

also fellow volunteers, your family, friends and ANYONE you

encounter in our outside of EMBRACE.

As a Volunteer Staff Member with Embrace we also expect you to (please check all boxes):

Invest your time regularly in growing your personal relationship with Christ.

Participate in a background check paid for by Embrace.

Attend staff meetings on the 2nd Friday in the beginning of each quarter from 5-8:00pm. Staff are expected to attend 3 out of 4 meetings per years, barring an emergency, to remain actively participating in Embrace.

Complete a half day orientation and horse safety training.

Be responsible to stay up to date on schedules and events via "Slack", as wells as communicate with leadership regarding changes in availability.

Arrive 1 hour prior to sessions and remain 30 minutes after each session-this is for helping to set up areas in the arena and craft room, connect with the other volunteers and to corporately engage in worship and prayer prior to the beginning of sessions, debriefing after sessions and to help with clean up and returning items used.

Participate in fundraising events.

Participate in staff retreat.

Have grace for participants and your fellow volunteers. All people will make mistakes and unintentionally ( or sometimes intentionally) let you down. Regardless of what happens, we need to remember people are not perfect and never will be. It is out job to give grace just as Jesus Christ gives grace to us.
