Barn Update

As summer heats up, so does the time for ministry. We are excited for the opportunity to  serve UGM Center for Women and Children, Canopy Village, Helping Captives, veterans, and first responders. Horses can play an important role in helping people recover from trauma. Through activities such as horseback riding and equine-assisted healing ministry, individuals often develop trust, confidence, and spatial and emotional awareness. Horses are highly sensitive animals that respond to human emotions and body language, providing immediate, nonjudgmental feedback. This can help people recognize and manage their feelings in a safe environment. Working with horses also encourages patience, responsibility, and communication skills, while the calming presence of the animals can reduce stress and anxiety. For many trauma survivors, the bond formed with a horse becomes a source of comfort, healing, and personal growth.

Volunteer Spotlight

Buffy Rennie serves as the Treasurer for Embrace and has faithfully been involved in the ministry for more than 6 years, serving in a variety of roles. She loves sharing her passion for horses and her heart for Jesus with every participant and person she meets.

Buffy’s favorite scripture:

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
